SodaStream's Provocative Super Bowl Commercial Banned by FOX

Good thing we can watch it online!

SodaStream just released their enticing Super Bowl commercial starring the blonde beauty, Scarlett Johansson, however unfortunately while the burgeoning brand probably shelled out a pretty penny on endorsement and media placement, the commercial won't hit the small screen this weekend.

While the commercial boasts sex appeal, the main reason for the boycott is due to the mention of Super Bowl sponsors Pepsi and Coke. Fox is not pleased with the reference, and decided to err on the side of caution and put a halt to SodaStream's ad.

SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum is enraged about the decision, speaking out to USA Today. "What are they afraid of?" Birnbaum questioned. "Which advertiser in America doesn't mention a competitor? This is the kind of stuff that happens in China. I'm disappointed as an American.

Looks like the decision is coming directly from Fox as Coca-Cola spokeswoman Lauren Thompson claims: "I can confirm we did not pressure Fox. Other than that, we don't comment on our competitors' efforts."

This is the second year that SodaStream's commercial has been rejected from the Super Bowl ad festivities.

Check out the commercial below. Do you think the Pepsi and Coca Cola reference is harsh enough to constitute the ban?
